Rio School District Spelling Bee

The Rio School District is conducting School Spelling Bees. The Spelling Bee is an exciting annual event that brings together students together to showcase their spelling prowess. This event not only enhances vocabulary and spelling skills but also fosters a sense of community and healthy competition among students. The Spelling Bee typically occurs in the spring. Students from grades 3 to 8 are eligible. Classrooms hold preliminary rounds to select their best spellers, who then advance to the school-wide competition. Each school will have one speller that will advance to the County Spelling Bee. The  Spelling Bee is a cherished tradition that celebrates academic excellence and personal growth among students. It is an event where young minds shine, and the spirit of learning is celebrated by the entire community.

Rio School District Cow is Expecting
The Rio School District community is buzzing with excitement as their beloved cow Mia is due to give birth any day now. Mia the cow was added to the Farm back in November thanks to the Lynch Family. This cherished member of the district's farm program has captured the hearts of students, teachers, and community members alike. The cow's pregnancy has been a wonderful educational opportunity for students. They've been able to learn about animal husbandry, the life cycle of livestock, and the responsibilities that come with caring for animals. It's not just a lesson in science; it's a lesson in compassion and responsibility. The birth of the calf will be a joyous occasion for everyone involved. It's a reminder of the beauty of nature and the importance of nurturing and respecting all living creatures. The Rio School District is proud to share this experience with its community, showcasing the value of agricultural education and the wonders of new life.
