I am honored to be part of the Rio Vista family. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and attended UCLA as an undergraduate where I received my Bachelors degree. I later received my Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential with a Single Subject K-8 math certification from the University of Redlands. Returning to school, I earned my Masters degree at Concordia University, Irvine. Before coming into education in 2001, I spent 20 years in the business world working in the retail, distribution, and manufacturing sectors. I began my career teaching fourth through sixth grades at an elementary school in the High Desert in California. Seeking an opportunity in leadership, I moved districts to become an elementary school principal and then moved into a district administrator position within the same district. When the opportunity arose for me to join the Rio School District in 2013, I accepted the position as Rio Plaza Principal and later Rio Del Mar Principal. Away from school I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, cycling, and riding my Harley. I am always seeking out new places to eat and experience and especially love to travel. Over the years, our family loved road trips as we enjoyed traveling through “small town USA” and seeing the many sights this country has to offer. My wife and I tried something new and took our first motorcycle road trip to Canada in 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed the open road experience. We have also been fortunate to travel internationally to Mexico, Canada, China and Italy.
